Built for efficiency, quality, and flexibility.
No one gets you ready for Rotomolding like Myers. Once product design and engineering are finalized, the manufacturing process is optimized, and the mold is made, your project is “ready for Roto,” and manufacturing can begin. Depending on both your geographic location and the unique needs of your project, your parts/products will be made at one or more of our eight sites for manufacturing.
Rotomolding Your Parts
We provide all-encompassing solutions to meet every customer’s needs. While we’re able to handle the rotomolding industry’s widest variety of product types ranging in levels of complexity and size, the foundational process of rotational molding can be summarized in the following steps:
- Load the Mold: Empty or hollow molds are filled with the desired resin material and loaded onto a large spider device.
- Heat the Mold: The molds are then rotated slowly in a large oven, allowing the material to be dispersed and softened until it lays out onto the mold surface to form the product.
- Cool the Mold: After the material has been melted, it continues to rotate on the spider through a cooling process, which helps to harden and set the plastic material.
- Unload the Mold: Once the part has been properly cooled, operators at our facilities unload the mold.
The part will move to secondary assembly operations or the quality lab for testing, depending on the product.
